Match the number in full
The number is on your current filter's label and in the fridge manual. Many Amana numbers look alike: 12527301, 12527302, 12527303, 12527304 and 12527305 are each listed separately, as are 12388401 to 12388407. Other numbers here include 12319801, AP4310541 and WF-292. Search the exact number rather than the closest one. If the label is worn, the number is also listed in your fridge's manual or on the filter housing.
How often to replace it
As a general guideline, replace a refrigerator water filter about every 6 months, or sooner if water flow slows, ice or water starts to taste off, or the fridge's filter light comes on. After installing it, run and discard some water as the instructions describe, then reset the filter indicator.
