Baseboard Heaters
King Electric baseboard heaters in white, from 27" 500W to 96" 2000W, in 120V and 240V versions (the 96" is 240V only), plus a 1000W portable baseboard heater. Check the circuit voltage first: never connect a 120V heater to a 240V circuit, and a 240V heater on 120V gives far less heat.
Our most popular brand is King Electric baseboard heaters. For temperature control, see thermostats.
Baseboard heater guide: voltage, wattage and installation ▾
Voltage first
Most permanent baseboard heaters in Canadian homes run on 240V, but some circuits are 120V. Check the existing heater's label or your panel. King Electric lengths from 27" to 72" come in 120V and 240V, and the 96" is 240V only, so order the one that matches.
Wattage and length
Wattage rises with length: 500W (27"), 750W (36"), 1000W (48"), 1250W (60"), 1500W (72") and 2000W (96"). Larger, draftier or poorly insulated rooms need more heat. If you are replacing a heater, matching the old wattage is the simplest choice.
Installation and safety
Hardwired baseboard heaters must be installed by a licensed electrician on a properly sized circuit, and controlled by a line-voltage thermostat rated for the load. Keep furniture and curtains clear of the heater, and follow King Electric's instructions.
