Find your Bissell filter
The model number is on a label on the vacuum, usually underneath or on the back. Our titles list the models each filter fits, such as 1546, 2252 or 68C7. Bissell also uses filter style numbers, and several listings give them, such as Style 8 and 14, Style 10 and 16, or Style 9, 10, 12 and 16.
Which filter do you need?
- Pre-motor or intake filter: protects the motor from fine dust (for example XB1605295, XB1608225).
- Post-motor or HEPA exhaust filter: cleans the air leaving the vacuum (for example XB2038037, XB2031510).
- Dust cup filter: for bagless and cordless models such as Bolt, Featherweight and PowerForce bagless canisters.
- Filter sets: PowerForce and Easy Vac uprights use an inner pleated filter with an outer foam filter.
Care
Some dust cup filters are listed as washable (XB1613056, XB2031464). Only wash a filter that is marked washable. Rinse it in cold water without detergent and let it dry completely, usually at least 24 hours, before refitting it; a damp filter can damage the motor or grow mould. Replace other filters when they look clogged or suction drops.
