Choosing Climaloc weatherstripping ▾
Tape: foam, EPDM or sponge rubber
Climaloc foam tape comes in white or black, from 1/8" x 3/8" up to 1/2" x 1", in rolls of 9.8' to 40'. EPDM foam tape and rubber foam tape are firmer options, and sponge rubber tape comes in black. Pick a thickness slightly larger than the gap so the seal compresses when the door or window closes, and apply it to a clean, dry surface.
Door jamb sets
To replace the full seal around an exterior door, choose a jamb set that matches your door frame and colour: aluminum with vinyl or rubber, Climafoam on aluminum or PVC, adjustable PVC, adjustable vinyl spring, or magnetic. Add an aluminum door sweep or a 36" L-shape threshold to seal the bottom.
Joints and garage doors
Backer rod (3/8", 1/2" and 5/8") fills deep joints before caulking, and expanding sealant tape fills gaps from 1/4" to 1". The triple seal garage door side insulation seals the edges of a garage door.
