Carrier GAPCCCAR1625 FAQs
Is there an alternative to the Carrier GAPCCCAR1625 filter?
Carrier specifies the GAPCCCAR1625 as the replacement cartridge for its GAPAAXCC1625 Infinity Air Purifier and warns that a non-factory-approved cartridge may cause damage due to fire. For that unit, match the part number GAPCCCAR1625 rather than buying a generic 16 x 25 x 5 filter.
Which air purifier does the Carrier GAPCCCAR1625 fit?
The Carrier GAPCCCAR1625 is the replacement cartridge for the Carrier Infinity Air Purifier model GAPAAXCC1625, according to Carrier's installation instructions. That unit is rated MERV 15 with a maximum airflow of 1,600 CFM. The larger GAPAAXCC2025 uses the GAPCCCAR2025 instead, so check the model number on your purifier cabinet.
How often should I replace the Carrier GAPCCCAR1625?
Carrier says the GAPCCCAR1625 cartridge generally needs replacing every 8 to 12 months, along with cleaning the ionization array, depending on ductwork and local conditions, but in most homes we recommend replacing it every 3 to 4 months, and sooner with pets, renovation dust or heavy heating and cooling use.
How do I install the Carrier GAPCCCAR1625 cartridge?
To change the Carrier GAPCCCAR1625, Carrier says to turn off the heating and cooling power and the purifier switch, remove the door, slide out the old cartridge and insert the new one with its arrows pointing toward the furnace. Keep the power cord clear of the pleats, replace the door, then switch the purifier and system back on.
