Electronic, media or HEPA
Electronic air cleaners such as the 590AIV, 890AIV and EASASD models use a charged collecting cell that is cleaned and reused. Media air cleaners such as the EANC and EAMU series hold a replaceable MERV 11 pleated filter. HEPA units such as the EAHEPA350, EAHEPA450 and EVHEPA550-3 are rated by airflow, from 245 to 560 CFM.
Matching the size
Sizes are in the titles: 16x25 and 20x20 for media cabinets, 22x40 to 28x43 for Perfect-Platform bases. Air-Tite housings come in gas furnace (EAFHG) and electric air handler (EAFHE) versions, most for 1 inch filters; the EAFHG2424-6 takes 1, 2 or 4 inch filters. Measure your return opening or filter slot before ordering.
Installation
Ducted air cleaners, filter housings and return bases are fitted into the furnace ductwork. Have a licensed HVAC technician install them, especially electronic and HEPA models that need a power connection.
