Is the Fantech 40195 the same as the RPFH1315 filter kit?
Yes. Fantech 40195 is the item number for the RPFH1315 pre-filter and carbon filter kit (Fantech also writes it RHFH1315) for the CM3000, CM3000i and DM3000P whole-house HEPA systems. Fantech also sells the same filters in a 24-pack, item 40196; this listing is a single kit.
What is included in the Fantech 40195 filter kit?
The Fantech 40195 kit contains two pieces: one MERV 8 pre-filter and one carbon filter. Fantech rates the pre-filter to capture up to 90% of particles from 3 to 10 microns, such as pollen, dust, lint and pet dander, and the carbon filter reduces household odours from cooking oil and smoke.
Which Fantech units does the 40195 filter kit fit?
Fantech lists the 40195 pre-filter and carbon filter kit for the CM3000, CM3000i and DM3000P whole-house HEPA systems, where it covers filtration stages 1 and 2. The stage 3 HEPA filter in the same units is the Fantech 40193 (RHF16), which is replaced far less often.
How often should I replace the Fantech 40195 filters?
Fantech says to replace the 40195 pre-filter and carbon filter every 3 to 6 months with normal use, but in most homes we recommend replacing them every 3 to 4 months, and sooner with pets, renovation dust or heavy heating and cooling use. Fantech notes that pre-filter maintenance also affects how long the HEPA filter lasts.
