Which Fantech HRV models does the 402041 filter fit?
Fantech lists the 402041 washable aluminum mesh filter kit for the VHR1404, VHR1405R, VHR150, VHR150R, VER150, SHR150, SHR150R and SER1504N, all 150 CFM units. If your model is not on this list, check the size and part number on your existing filters before ordering, or email support@purefilters.ca for help finding the part.
What size is the Fantech 402041 filter?
Each Fantech 402041 filter measures 8-1/2 x 15 x 1/8 inches, and the kit contains two washable MERV 3 aluminum mesh filters that catch insects, lint, carpet fibres and debris. Several Fantech HRV filters look alike, so compare the size and the part number on your old filters before ordering.
Can I upgrade from the Fantech 402041 to a MERV 8 filter?
Yes. For the same 150 CFM Fantech units that use the 402041 MERV 3 mesh filters, Fantech offers the 414924 MERV 8 kit of two cleanable synthetic filters that trap finer particles such as mould spores and pollen, and the 414647 MERV 6 aluminum mesh kit. All three kits are 8-1/2 x 15 inches.
How often should I clean or replace the Fantech 402041 filters?
Fantech says to vacuum clean the 402041 aluminum mesh filters every 3 months with normal use and replace them as needed, but in most homes we recommend replacing them every 3 to 4 months, and sooner with pets, renovation dust or heavy heating and cooling use.
