Lennox X0585 FAQs
Is the Lennox X0585 the same as the Healthy Climate HCF14-11?
Yes. Lennox X0585 is the part number for the Healthy Climate HCF14-11, a 20 x 20 x 5 MERV 11 media filter for the Lennox HCC14-23 air handler cabinet, rated for 1,400 CFM. Lennox also lists it for the smaller HCC08-21 cabinet at 800 CFM. This listing is the genuine Lennox filter.
What are the actual dimensions of the Lennox X0585?
The Lennox X0585 is sold as 20 x 20 x 5, but Lennox lists its actual size as 20 x 19-3/4 x 4-3/8 inches, so it is not quite square and is under 5 inches deep. Order it by the part number on your old filter or by your HCC14-23 cabinet rather than by a tape-measure reading.
What is the difference between the Lennox X0585 and X0586?
The Lennox X0585 and X0586 are both 5-inch MERV 11 filters, but they are different sizes. The X0585 (HCF14-11) is 20 x 20 x 5 nominal, actual 20 x 19-3/4 x 4-3/8, for the HCC14-23 cabinet; the X0586 (BMAC-20C) is 20 x 25 x 5 nominal, actual 20 x 24-5/8 x 4-3/8. Check your old filter's part number before ordering.
Is there a MERV 13 or MERV 16 version of the Lennox X0585?
Yes. Lennox makes the same 20 x 20 x 5 HCF14 filter as the X0585 in two higher grades for the HCC14-23 cabinet: the 19L14 (HCF14-13, MERV 13) and the X7935 (HCF14-16, MERV 16). In Lennox's test data, MERV 13 media captures 54% of 0.3 to 1 micron particles and MERV 16 captures 95%, versus 28% for MERV 11.
How often should I replace the Lennox X0585?
Lennox rates its Healthy Climate media filters, including the X0585, for up to 12 months, but in most homes we recommend replacing it every 3 to 4 months, and sooner with pets, renovation dust or heavy heating and cooling use. Lennox notes that the number of occupants, pets and home size all affect how often it needs changing.
