Lennox X0586 FAQs
What does the Lennox X0586 filter fit?
The Lennox X0586 is the replacement filter for the Lennox BMAC-20C media air cleaner: Lennox lists its model number as BMAC-20C, and the BMAC installation manual names X0586 as the 5-inch media that cabinet uses. Lennox rates it MERV 11 at a nominal 20 x 25 x 5 inches. Check the model on your cabinet's label before ordering.
What are the actual dimensions of the Lennox X0586?
The Lennox X0586 is sold as 20 x 25 x 5 inches, but Lennox lists its actual size as 20 x 24-5/8 x 4-3/8 inches. Like most 5-inch media filters, it is well under 5 inches deep, so go by the part number on your old filter or your BMAC-20C cabinet rather than a tape-measure reading.
What is the difference between the Lennox X0586 and X0585?
The Lennox X0586 is a 20 x 25 x 5 MERV 11 filter for the BMAC-20C, while the X0585 is the Healthy Climate HCF14-11, a 20 x 20 x 5 MERV 11 filter that Lennox lists for its HCC08-21 and HCC14-23 cabinets. They differ by 5 inches in length, so check the size and part number printed on your old filter.
How often should I replace the Lennox X0586?
Lennox's BMAC installation manual says the 5-inch filter in the BMAC-20C, the Lennox X0586, must be replaced every year, and more often where dust levels are higher, but in most homes we recommend replacing it every 3 to 4 months, and sooner with pets, renovation dust or heavy heating and cooling use.
