Hayward pool pump guide: models, speed and voltage ▾
Find your current model
The pump label shows the model number (for example SP2605X7A or W3VSP32815) and the motor nameplate shows horsepower and voltage. Replacing like for like keeps your plumbing and electrical unchanged. Super Pump, TriStar and MaxFlo models suit in-ground pools; PowerFlo Matrix and PowerFlo II pumps come with a base and, on some models, a cord, a typical above-ground setup.
Single-speed or variable-speed
Variable-speed models here include the Super Pump VS 615, 620 and 700, TriStar VS 810 to 950 and MaxFlo VS 420 and 500. They let you run lower speeds for everyday filtering, which generally uses less electricity. Omni and OmniX versions are listed separately; check whether you need one to work with your Hayward automation.
Voltage and commercial pumps
Most residential models are 115/230V; PowerFlo Matrix, UltraPro LX and TurboFlo II models are 115V. HCP 2000 and 3000 pumps are three-phase commercial units at 208-230/460V or 575V. Have pump wiring and bonding done by a licensed electrician.
