Find the right part
Parts are made for specific units, so start with your air exchanger's brand and model number, usually on a label on or inside the unit, then look up the part number in the manual. Cores are listed by size or by the unit they fit, such as the Lifebreath 68-283R for the Metro 120.
Cores, motors and control boards
Order the same core type your unit uses: an HRV core or an ERV (enthalpy) core. Turn off power before servicing, and have a licensed HVAC technician replace motors and control boards.
Controls and weatherhoods
Wall controls and timers, such as the Lennox 99-DET01 wired and 99-DET02 wireless 20/40/60 minute timers, let you boost ventilation when needed. Weatherhood kits are sized by duct diameter, such as Lifebreath kits with 5, 6 or 7 inch hoods, so match your existing duct size.
