How to find your pad
Check the label on your humidifier, usually on the cover or inside the door, for the model number, or read the number printed on the old pad or its frame. Pads differ in size, thickness and frame style, so match the number rather than guessing by look. Universal pads such as Desert Spring DS00200 list their dimensions (9-3/4 x 10 x 1-3/4 inches) so you can compare.

How often to replace a humidifier pad
Replace the pad at least once per heating season, ideally before you turn the humidifier on in the fall. In homes with hard water the pad can crust over with minerals, so it may need a mid-season change. A clogged pad absorbs less water and makes the humidifier less effective.
