Find your Pleatco part number
The part number is usually printed on the end cap or label of the old cartridge, or listed in your filter's manual. Some listings also show the matching numbers from other cartridge makers (for example, the CS Series cartridge lists Pleatco PJANCS200, Unicel C-8418 and Filbur FC-0823). If the label has worn off, measure the length and outside diameter and note the opening at each end, then compare with the product details.
Single cartridges and multi-packs
Filters that hold several elements need a full set, so many Pleatco cartridges come as 4-packs, including PA81, PA106, PA131, PCC80, PCC105, PCC130 and PJAN85. Others come in pairs, such as PRB17.5SF. Replace every cartridge in the tank at the same time so they load evenly.
Cleaning and replacing
Clean a cartridge when the filter pressure rises about 8 to 10 psi above its clean reading: turn off the pump, remove the element and hose it off from top to bottom. Replace it when it no longer cleans up, or when the pleats are torn or flattened or an end cap is cracked.
