Match the part to your heater
Read the brand, model and size (BTU) on the heater's rating plate, then look for that series in the part title. Many parts are specific to one series or size: the Pentair natural gas to propane conversion kits are listed separately for 200, 333 and 400 Max-E-Therm heaters, the Rheem stack kits name the heater models they fit, and the Hayward vent adapters come in 6 and 8 inch sizes for positive or negative pressure venting.
Natural gas or propane
Gas valves, pilots and burner parts are made for one gas type. Order the part listed for the gas your heater burns, and use a conversion kit only for the heater model it names.
Installation and safety
Gas valves, burners, igniters, venting and fuel conversions should be installed by a licensed gas technician. Have control boards, transformers and other electrical parts fitted by a qualified pool technician or electrician. Turn off gas and power before servicing, and follow the manufacturer's instructions.
