Match the cartridge to your system
Start with the model on your old cartridge or your Rainfresh system, such as an FC100 housing or a QS1X Twist undersink system. Twist cartridges (QLV Twist, QCA Twist) are a separate style from standard drop-in cartridges. The IM200 and QSIMX are in-line filters for refrigerator and ice maker lines, and the R-2U and Instapure R5 are faucet filter cartridges.
Choose by type and micron rating
- Sediment: string wound (SW1), high-flow (BP5, BP25, BC101, BC3) and standard cartridges (CF3, CF4). A lower micron number catches finer particles.
- Carbon: CF2-8, BC2 and BC202, listed for chlorine taste and odour.
- Chloramine: QCA Twist and CA1.
- Chemical reduction: QLV Twist (lead and VOC) and VC1RF.
- Ceramic: RF1S (0.3 micron) and the 1M 2-stage cartridge.
When to replace
Follow the interval in your Rainfresh system instructions, and change the cartridge sooner if water pressure drops or taste and odour return.
