Lennox X0444 FAQs
Which air cleaner does the Lennox X0444 fit?
The Lennox X0444 (Lennox model X044401) is the replacement media for the Healthy Climate PMAC-12C high-efficiency media air cleaner, a now-discontinued cabinet measuring 17-3/4 x 28-3/4 x 10 inches. The larger PMAC-20C uses the X0445 instead, so check the model number on your air cleaner cabinet before ordering.
Does the Lennox X0444 fit the Aprilaire Space-Gard 2400?
Lennox states that its PMAC filters replace the Aprilaire/Space-Gard 2400 (401) and 2200 (201) filters respectively, which pairs the PMAC-12C's X0444 with the Space-Gard 2400 and its 401 filter. Confirm that your cabinet is a Space-Gard 2400, not a 2200, and match the part number on your old filter before ordering.
What size is the Lennox X0444 filter?
The Lennox X0444 is a 6-inch expandable media filter with a nominal size of 17 x 28 x 6 inches (often written 28 x 17 x 6). Lennox describes the PMAC-12C filter as a collapsible, cabinet-housed 6-inch filter, so it fits inside the PMAC-12C air cleaner cabinet rather than in a standard 1-inch filter slot.
What is the difference between the Lennox X0444 and X5425?
The Lennox X0444 and X5425 both fit the PMAC-12C at 17 x 28 x 6, but the X5425 is Lennox's MERV 16 upgrade media. The X0444 is the standard grade: Lennox's current catalogue lists it as MERV 11, while the original PMAC brochure described a MERV 10 filter. Choose the X5425 for finer particle capture.
How often should I replace the Lennox X0444?
Lennox rates the PMAC-12C filter for 12 months and recommends annual replacement of the X0444 media, but in most homes we recommend replacing it every 3 to 4 months, and sooner with pets, renovation dust or heavy heating and cooling use.
