Lennox X6675 FAQs
What is the difference between the Lennox X6675 and X6673?
The Lennox X6675 and X6673 both fit the HCC20-28 Healthy Climate cabinet at 20 x 25 x 5, but the X6675 (HCF20-16) is MERV 16 with an activated-carbon coating for odours, while the X6673 (HCF20-11) is MERV 11. In Lennox's test data, MERV 16 media captures 95% of 0.3 to 1 micron particles, versus 28% for MERV 11.
Is the Lennox X6675 the same as the Healthy Climate HCF20-16?
Yes. Lennox X6675 is the catalogue number for the Healthy Climate HCF20-16 Carbon Clean 16, a 20 x 25 x 5 MERV 16 box filter for the Lennox HCC20-28 Healthy Climate cabinet. Lennox rates it for 2,000 CFM, and its media has a coconut-based activated-carbon coating to help remove odours. Either number on your old filter means this is the right replacement.
What is the difference between the Lennox X6675 and X6672?
The Lennox X6675 and X6672 are both MERV 16 Carbon Clean filters, but they fit different cabinet widths: the X6675 (HCF20-16) is 20 x 25 x 5 for the HCC20-28, and the X6672 (HCF16-16) is 16 x 25 x 5 for the HCC16-28. Check whether your Healthy Climate cabinet label says HCC16 or HCC20 before ordering.
What are the actual dimensions of the Lennox X6675?
The Lennox X6675 is sold as 20 x 25 x 5, but Lennox's Healthy Climate engineering handbook gives the actual filter size for the HCC20-28 cabinet as 19-3/4 x 24-3/4 x 4-3/8 inches. Like most 5-inch media filters, it is well under 5 inches deep, so match the part number on your old filter rather than a tape-measure reading.
How often should I replace the Lennox X6675?
Lennox says the X6675 Carbon Clean 16 cartridge lasts up to one year, depending on your home's conditions, but in most homes we recommend replacing it every 3 to 4 months, and sooner with pets, renovation dust or heavy heating and cooling use. Lennox notes that household size, pets and lifestyle all affect how quickly a filter loads up.
