PureFilters 16x25x4 FAQs
What is the actual size of the PureFilters 16x25x4 furnace filter?
The PureFilters 16x25x4 pleated furnace filter actually measures 15½ x 24½ x 3¾ inches. 16x25x4 is the nominal size printed on the frame, and the filter is made slightly smaller so it slides into a 16 x 25 x 4 filter slot. If your old filter measures differently, we also make custom-size pleated filters in MERV 8, 11 and 13.
How many filters come in the PureFilters 16x25x4 pack?
Each PureFilters 16x25x4 pack contains 3 pleated furnace filters of the same MERV rating. You choose MERV 8, MERV 11 or MERV 13 when you order, and all three ratings have the same 15½ x 24½ x 3¾ inch actual size. The filters are made in Canada and ship across the country from our Toronto-based store.
How often should I replace the PureFilters 16x25x4 filter?
PureFilters rates its 16x25x4 pleated filter for 2 to 4 months, but in most homes we recommend replacing it every 3 to 4 months, and sooner with pets, renovation dust or heavy heating and cooling use. At that pace, one 3-pack of 16x25x4 filters lasts about 9 months to a year.
What is the difference between the 16x25x4 and 16x25x1 furnace filters?
The PureFilters 16x25x4 and 16x25x1 filters share the same 15½ x 24½ inch face, but the 16x25x4 is 3¾ inches deep and the 16x25x1 is ¾ inch deep. They are not interchangeable, so buy the depth your filter slot was built for, which is printed on the frame of your old filter. The 16x25x4 is rated for 2 to 4 months, versus 1 to 3 months.
