Electro Air M1-1056 FAQs
What size is the Electro Air M1-1056 filter?
The Electro Air M1-1056 is a 16 x 25 media filter with an actual size of 15-3/8 x 25-1/2 x 5-1/4 inches, according to Electro-Air's EANC media air cleaner manual. Because the real dimensions differ from the nominal size, match the part number M1-1056 on your old filter or in your owner's manual rather than ordering by a tape-measure reading.
Which air cleaner does the Electro Air M1-1056 fit?
Electro-Air lists the M1-1056 as the replacement media filter for its EANC1625-A whole-house media air cleaner, a 16 x 25 duct-size cabinet rated up to 1,400 CFM. Electro-Air's 16 x 25 MU-series media air cleaners also take the M1-1056, and the fit list on this page includes Five Seasons FSNC1625, Goodman GMU1625 and Carrier CMF1625 cabinets.
Is there a MERV 14 version of the Electro Air M1-1056?
Yes. Electro-Air offers the G1-1056 as a MERV 14 upgrade for the same EANC1625-A cabinet that takes the MERV 11 M1-1056. Both are 5-1/4 inch deep filters for a 16 x 25 duct-size air cleaner; the M1-1056 is the MERV 11 filter the unit ships with, and the G1-1056 captures more fine particles.
How often should I replace the Electro Air M1-1056?
Electro-Air says the M1-1056 lasts up to one year in standard applications and should be replaced once or twice a year, but in most homes we recommend replacing it every 3 to 4 months, and sooner with pets, renovation dust or heavy heating and cooling use. Electro-Air also notes that smoking, pets and renovations shorten filter life.
How do I change the Electro Air M1-1056 filter?
To change the Electro Air M1-1056, Electro-Air says to turn off the furnace or air conditioning fan first, remove the air cleaner door, take out and discard the old filter, then slide in the new one with its airflow arrow pointing toward the system fan and close the door.
